Tanjung, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Tabalong Public Works Agency dismantled the suspension bridge in Masintan Village, Kelua Subdistrict, because it is not feasible to traverse.
Head of Tabalong Public Works Noor Rifani said on Saturday dismantling the suspension bridge had to be done as part of the wooden bridge deck are damaged or decayed, so dangerous when crossed by residents and two-wheeled vehicles.
"Demolition of the suspension bridge in the village of Masintan had been carried out. The plan is in 2015 we build a permanent bridge about 200 meters from the old location," said Noor Rifani.
The new bridge will be made in the form of concrete frame with approximately 90 meters long and a width of 7 meters, said the Head Bridge section, Rizal, to Antaranews Kalsel.
"For the construction of a replacement bridge we allocated about Rp9 billion," he said.
Public Works is also building a new bridge to replace the collapsed bridge in the village of Simpung Layung RT II, Muara Uya Subdistrict.
Data in the Public Works is currently 521.4 kilometers of district roads in good condition and 267.9 kilometers with minor damage.
Conditions of bridge is 2,852 meters long in good condition, while 128.4 meters had broken and Tabalong has 71 suspension bridges.
While district's isolated roads are in Muara Uya along 43 kilometers across Binjai Village, Damboeng Raya, and the village of Hegar Manah in Bintang Ara Subdistrict.
